The show features acrylic paintings by Tom Mulligan and mixed media works by Sean Scheidt, two artist who exhibited at the 2008 SoWeBo Arts Festival one day gallery. These two talented artists have been invited to bring multiple works for longer and broader exposure on the walls of Zella’s.

SOWEBO
ARTS BOARD ANNOUNCEMENT |
We
have some good news and bad news to announce. Like many
organizations in a volatile real-estate market we were
not able to secure an reasonable lease to continue renting
1111 Hollins Street. On November 30th the Sowebo Arts Gallery
vacated. We want to thank EVERYONE whom over the past year
and a half has been involved with, volunteered for, and
visited our gallery. We can be very proud of the quality
and breath of the shows. Surely, we had a positive impact
on the Baltimore art scene.
Now for some good news. Baltimore has seen it's share of alternative gallery
spaces give up the ghost and fade away.....not us friends.......it's a never
say die "Sowebo" thing!
We have a new partner in Sowebo and a new gallery venue. Zella's Pizzeria (1145
Hollins) has enthusiastically embraced us to curate and hang our shows in their
space. This newly opened restaurant (in the old Tell Tale Hearth) is open 6 days
a week, was voted by the Citypaper as "Baltimore's Best Pizza 2007" and
has very desirable natural light and directional spots on it's walls. Known as
the "Sowebo Arts Gallery at Zella's", we kicked off with a show from
Sowebo member Richard Terrill: "Newrospective". We followed the current
show curatored by member Susan Kroiz Krieger. Dan Van Allen is curating the next
show with the Soweboposter Showcoming to coincide with the 2008 Sowebo Arts Festival
held on May 25th.
The Sowebo Members Wall has moved to the new Adler Gallery at 100 S. Stricker.
Members artwork will hang year round, changing 4 times with the coming and going
of the seasons. The Winter Members Show had it's Grand Opening Dec 9th. More
