Laddie Waters is primarily a painter of landscapes and figures. Often his figure painting has all the charm of genre painting and that is rare in a contemporary artist. Always his painting is somewhat impressionistic, and occasionally it has symbolic overtones. However, the symbolism is never macabre. He sees a world that is beautiful, and often romantic.
Laddie Waters is a member of the Charcoal Club, and a 1957 graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art. His academic and liberal arts education was gained at the Johns Hopkins University.
