Hello Friends of Carole Jean,

It’s with sadness that we must note the passing of Carole Jean Bertsch on December 2nd, after her she defiantly lived her final months to the fullest, thanks to the constant stream of visits from loving friends and family members.

I met Carole Jean during the summer of 2008, though I felt I’ve known her for decades, as I’ve been framing her photographs for about that long. With Baltimore being the way it is, we’re all bound to meet each other sooner or later. I’m so grateful to have had her bring joy to my life, even for this short period of time.

Having spoken to mutual friends throughout the years, it seems that Carole Jean lived hard, and she loved and laughed hard, too. She flowed as one of those truly unique individuals who makes your world more colorful and your life more spicy – I’ve heard the phrase “force of nature” in reference to her upon many occasions.

Fleckenstein Gallery will be hosting a memorial in her honor: a time of celebration, stories and lots of fun, as Carole Jean would have it. Her artwork will also be on display. Please feel free to forward this – we want to make sure all of Carole Jean’s friends and fans know about it. Thank you

CAROLE JEAN BERTSCH MEMORIAL
SATURDAY, JANUARY 2ND, 6-9PM

Please be aware that traffic may be heavy on Keswick Road due to the lights on 34th street, around the corner from us. You may park in the parking lot across the street from Habitat for Humanity, but do not leave the vehicle there overnight, as you may be towed in the morning. Please call or notify someone at the front door if there is a need to use the side garage door entrance (it may be closed dependent upon inclement weather).

We hope to see you Saturday!
Terrie
